1. What airline will be used?

We have used many airlines, including EL AL Airline, Royal Jordanian, and Swiss Airline, etc.

2. What is the difference in our time zones?

Israel, Jordan and Egypt are seven hours ahead of US Eastern time.

3. What are the rest rooms like in the Holy Land?

Be prepared for a cultural shock (especially in Jordan and Egypt)! Men and women will find porcelain-rimmed holes in the floor. You should travel each day with tissues and/or wipes. You may also be required to pay a small fee to use the rest room.

4. How much money should I bring?

This is a personal decision. NOT included in your tour cost are: Optional Tours (which are paid in cash directly to your guide), shopping and lunches. A love offering will be collected for your guide and driver by the Bus Captain (see item #8 below).

5. What type of currency is used?

Shekels in Israel, Pounds in Egypt, Dinars in Jordan, however, US currency is widely accepted.

6. Should I exchange some money before departure?

This is not necessary, but you may feel more comfortable having some local currency before arrival.

7. Will US currency be accepted for extra expenses?

Yes, generally US currency is accepted for small purchases within Israel.

8. What about the "love offering" for our guides and drivers?

Our suggested amount for the voluntary love offering is $4.00 per person/per day for your guide and $2.30 per person/per day for your driver. Toward the end of your trip, your Bus Captain will pass two envelopes (one for the guide and one for the driver) to collect the love offerings. If you participate in an extension, the same collection will happen toward the end of that trip. Taking a minimum of $500 in cash (small clean bills) is recommended.

9. What will the weather be like?

While there is no way to predict the weather, we can offer the following averages:

• Spring: 62 degrees
• Summer: 77 degrees
• Fall: 75 degrees
• Winter: 52 degrees

10. What type of clothing should I bring?

Layer clothing as the mornings and evenings may be cool while days may be hot. Bring a lined raincoat, a small umbrella, and a hat to protect you from both the rain and sun. For touring, wear loose, comfortable cottons or other lightweight clothing that can be layered. Some of the days involve long bus rides and/or considerable walking, so comfort is essential. Comfortable shoes are a must!

NOTE: At some holy sites, men and women must have their knees and shoulders covered. Please check with your guide for any clothing restrictions for the following day.
