Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - November 5 – DEPARTURE

Your journey begins when you depart the USA on your overnight international flight.

Day 2 - November 6 – ARRIVAL

Welcome to the Holy Land! Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide & transferred to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Day 3 - November 7 – JESUS IN THE GALILEE

Travel to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter told the Lord, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God!” Enjoy a St. Peter’s Fish Lunch (included). Visit Magdala, the recently discovered hometown of Mary Magdalene. Explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee, and stand in the remains of the synagogue built over the one in which Jesus ministered. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes and reflect on the Sermon on the Mount. At Tabgha, recall Peter’s declaration of devotion to the risen Christ. Finish the day by sailing across the Sea of Galilee, where you can share in a time of worship on the water.

Day 4 - November 8 – FROM SEA TO SEA

Travel from the shores of Galilee to the Mediterranean coast to explore the ruins of Caesarea Maritima. This port city of Herod the Great contains extensive ruins, including a theater and Roman aqueduct. Stand on Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al. At Megiddo, a site where 20 cities lie superimposed on one another, look out over the Plains of Armageddon. Take a step back in time at Nazareth Village, a living history of the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth. Pass through Cana, where Jesus turned water to wine at the wedding feast, before returning to Tiberias.

Day 5 - November 9 – SOUTH ALONG THE JORDAN

This morning, gather at the River Jordan, where you can remember or renew your baptism. At Ein Harod (Gideon’s Spring), you will learn about how Gideon selected his fighters based on how they drank from the spring. View Mount Gerazim. Next, visit Jericho, “the oldest city in the world,” whose walls were long ago brought down by the power of God. Continue to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.

Day 6 - November 10 – MASADA & THE DEAD SEA

This morning, explore Masada, the spectacular mountain fortress of Herod the Great, famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Take the cable car to the top and peer down at the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Next, take a dip in the renowned salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the surface of the earth. Travel back to Jerusalem, passing through the Valley of the Shadow.

Day 7 - November 11 – JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM

Your first stop this morning will be St. Peter in Gallicantu. The site is thought to be the House of Caiaphas, the High Priest, during the trial and crucifixion of Jesus. In the Old City, visit the Lithostrotos and see the area of pavement constructed with large slabs associated with the condemnation of Jesus by Pilate. The pavement also has a Roman “King’s Game” board carved into it for use as a dice game that recalls the casting of lots for Jesus’ clothing after His crucifixion. From there, walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross.” This afternoon, go to Bethlehem and look out over Shepherd’s Field, where the angels proclaimed good tidings of great joy.

Day 8 - November 12 – JERUSALEM

This morning, stand on the Temple Mount (conditions permitting), where the Jewish Temple once stood and where the Dome of the Rock now stands. View the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath. Stand on the Mount of Olives for a remarkable view of the “Golden City” of Jerusalem. At Dominus Flevit Church (“the cry of the Lord”), recall when Jesus mourned for the city of Jerusalem. Pray in the Garden of Gethsemane among the olive trees as Jesus did the night He was betrayed with a kiss. In modern Jerusalem, visit the Israel Museum to see the first-century model of the City of Jerusalem. Visit the Upper Room at Syriac Church of St. Mark’s. Return to the Old City and enjoy the preserved, ancient culture found in the narrow streets and the modernized Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. Before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay, you will visit Zedekiah’s Cave, also called Solomon’s Quarries.

Day 9 - November 13 – JERUSALEM

Explore the Southern Wall Excavations, including the Davidson Center. Pray alongside the Jewish faithful at the Western Wall, then go underground through the Western Wall Tunnel, where the stonework is preserved from the Second Temple! Visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. Finally, gather together at the Garden Tomb and stop at Gordon’s Calvary, where you can reflect on the agony of the cross and the glory of resurrection! After dinner, transfer to Tel Aviv for the return flight.

Day 10 - November 14 - RETURN

Return home with a transformed faith & memories to last a lifetime!
